The Cairngorms National Park is an area of stunning scenery and beauty, where you can take your time to experience many kinds of outdoor activities, explore the countryside, or just enjoy some of the best high - and low level walking in the UK, including the Speyside Way.

The Speyside Way runs from Buckie on the shore of the Moray Firth coast of NE Scotland, south westwards to Aviemore on the edge of the Cairngorm Mountains, a distance of approximately 65 miles. There is also a 15 mile spur to Tomintoul - visit the website

The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA)
The Park covers an area of some 3,800 sq km of which almost half is designated as being sites of special natural heritage importance. The CNPA are committed:

  • To conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area
  • To promote sustainable use of the natural resources of the area
  • To promote understanding and enjoyment (including enjoyment in the form of recreation) of the special qualities of the area by the public
  • To promote sustainable economic and social development of the area's communities
